Okay so my auto insurance just sent me an email saying my policy is ready to renew. I just paid 600 dollars about 1 month ago, and to ‘renew’ costs over 1,000. What does renew mean in comparison to cancellation? is it optional?
Renew means to continue the policy for another term (which with most companies is 6 months) which will mean you’ll need to pay for the policy and continue to drive legally. To cancel means the policy will terminate, you will not have to pay anything, and you will no longer have insurance and cannot legally drive the car.

All inquiries of a similar nature done in a 3 week window are treated as one.

I have a farmers policy for my auto insurance. My agent never replies nor picks up the call. I want to change the agents. I am thinking if I should check with with state farm. Do you know if state farm has better or same or expensive rate for the similar coverage than farmers?
im dealing with st.farm in a claim from one of thier insured. i must say they are the worst company ive had to deal with! im not going to get into it, but they are not good to the people they dont insure. they were very rude people.
Can I get full coverage auto insurance on a car that was once totaled?

My dad owns a 1992 Firebird that he (supposedly) totaled last year. Here’s the story, there was a really bad storm, and his boss demanded that he was not only at his job but on time. So my dad rushed on his way to work, and hydroplaned on a back road that is prone to flooding. He got it towed back to the house and later that day he filed a report to the insurance agency that it was totaled. He got the money for the totaled car, and he used the money to drain the engine, change the oil, put in new spark plugs, get new carpet, etc. The car now runs, but it has 274,000 miles, and the insurance company told him he can never get his full coverage reinstated. I beg to differ, seeing as how I’m going to inherit this car soon, and I want to replace the old worn-out motor anyways, and with a new motor this won’t even be the same car.
So here is my question:
If I get the engine replaced with a crate engine with 0 miles, do you think that the insurance company will reinstate full coverage?
The vehicle is still a salvaged vehicle – as it has a salvaged title – regardless of if the engine was replaced. It’s up to each insurance companies own discretion if they want to offer full coverage. Again, just because it got a new engine – does NOT change the fact that the vehicle is still a salvaged vehicle and holds a salvaged title – the DMV will not change the fact that it holds a salvaged title.
Is it ok if my auto insurance still belongs to TX state?

I just moved to CA. I don’t know for how long I am going to be here. I might move back within 2-3 months or so. My auto insurance & registration still belongs to Tx state. Is it ok if I stay in CA without doing my auto regis. and insu. here in CA. Please advise.
I just moved to CA. That seems to indicate you are now a resident of CA. If so, you have 20 days to change things over to CA, which will include your insurance coverage.
If you move back to TX in the future, you can switch back if and when you do.
